Privacy
This page summarizes what IP Context (ipcontext.info) typically processes when you load public HTML pages or call GET /json. It is written for visitors, educators, and security reviewers.
Connection and HTTP data
As with any HTTPS property, the service receives your public IP address, TLS parameters, request path, and standard HTTP headers including User-Agent. When a reverse proxy forwards client identity, common forwarding headers may be read to populate the response and, where applicable, an original client field in JSON.
Derived enrichment
Geolocation, organization or ASN strings, time zone, and network-type labels are produced from IP intelligence databases maintained on the server. The service does not read device GPS, local files, or contacts.
Accounts and marketing
The public lookup does not require registration. This deployment is not designed to embed third-party advertising pixels or to sell individual profiles. Should analytics or ads be introduced later, this document should name the provider and describe opt-out mechanisms where they exist.
Logging
Web servers, load balancers, and hosting providers may retain access logs for reliability and abuse prevention. Retention periods and jurisdictions depend on the operator hosting this instance.
Children
The content is intended for a general technical audience, not for children as a primary audience. Classroom use should follow your institution’s acceptable-use policy.
Transport security
Always access the service over https:// so traffic between your browser and the edge remains encrypted.
Updates
Material changes to processing should be reflected here with a revision note or date.
